About Us

Troop 226 was started as a unit to provide an authentic Boy Scout experience, a back to basics approach. Back to the Patrol Method, back to boy led- boy-run, and back to adventure. Outings include shooting outings, hiking the Appalachian Trail, Motorboating and tubing and skiing, whitewater rafting, sports outings of games and attending local college football, fishing and much more.

The focus on boy-led boy-run adult mentored means the boys themselves pick, plan, and run outings which leads to far greater leadership development among the scouts themselves as well as meaning they choose what to do.

The Troop boasts 100% trained adult leadership and some of the most highly trained adult leadership in the Atlanta Area. Adult award recipients include a Silver Beaver in 2012, 2 District Award of Merit recipients, 5 Wood Badge Trained leaders with two staff members. Our leadership sits on several Council Committees.

Troop 226, so named after Proverbs 22:6 "bring up a boy in the way he should go and he will follow it all the days of his life" would be happy to have you visit us any time.
